JIT (Just-In-Time)
Manufacturing system which depends on frequent, small deliveries of parts and supplies to keep on-site inventory to a minimum. Cole Hersee Co. uses this and other systems to improve efficiency and maximize throughput.

JOULE J
The joule is the unit of work or energy. One joule is the amount of work done when an applied force of 1 newton moves through a distance of 1 meter in the direction of the force.

A watt second. 1 joule equals 0.0002778 watt hours. 1 kilowatt hour is equivalent to 3,600,000 joules.

It is named after the English physicist James Prescott Joule (1818-89).
