NANO (N)
A metric prefix meaning one billionth of a unit or 10-9. See Metric Prefixes

NORMALLY CLOSED/OPEN    NC or NO
When the actuator of a switch is in its 'normal' position, it is wired to be either Open (NO) or Closed (NC). NO = an un-actuated switch: the circuit is open, and no current is flowing until you operate the switch. NC = the switch is closed, the circuit is closed, and current is flowing until you operate the switch.

The newton is the SI unit of force. One newton is the force required to give a mass of 1 kilogram an acceleration of 1 meter per second per second.

It is named after the English mathematician and physicist Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727).

It's also the name given to a well-known cookie created by the Kennedy Biscuit Works of Boston (now Nabisco), and named after a town near Boston.
